Yeah! You read that right. I lost 5 pounds in a month. A very healthy weight loss because on average a healthy weight loss is about 1 pound per week. So I lost a little over a pound a week. I was shocked to be quite honest. I cheated on several occasions indulging on sweets and just plain junk food. However I always tracked my calorie intake. In serious honesty I think counting calories is the best way to lose weight. Like you can eat whatever you want as long as you’re counting your calorie intake. I do suggest you stick to healthy foods and eat more veggies, fruits, and lean protein. I use the app My Fitness Pal by Under Armour to track my calorie intake and Track My Fitness my exercises.
Over the course of a month I reduced my sugar and carb intake. However at one point I did relapse, but now more than ever I am motivated to make sure I don’t give in to the temptation of sugary carbs like donuts and cake. Throughout the month I stayed on a diet that restricted me to less that 1,800 calories a day. My goal was to eat 1,500 calories a day but sometimes I over indulged and reached the regular intake of 2,000 calories. Be that as it may I was able to lose 5 pounds by doing low impact exercises like walking my dog or hiking and restricting my sugar and carb intake.
I’m so happy I saw the results of my hard work. If I continue on this track I should be around 150 pounds by June of 2018. One thing for sure is that the body changes according to your activity. The more repetitive the activity the more your body gets used to it and the more intense your workout should be. Right now I lost 5 pounds as my body becomes accustomed to the exercise it will be harder to lose weight because I will begin to form more muscle. (At least its better than fat!)
